Heat? No, Eat!

The rough heat wave may have slowed we humans, but even 100+ degree days seems to affect the birds only a little. They're tearing through suet, making quick work of safflower, and even the peanuts are getting a full assault. These Carolina Chickadees, and what looks like about eight other species, have been doing their best to prod me into buying another full sack of this tasty bean. Even in the worst heat of the day (albeit tempered by my abundant shade on the south side) there's no slowing down. Well, they're welcome to it. Tough little devils!
