Momma in the House

Did I say yesterday that no adult was in sight as I checked the clutch of Eastern Bluebird eggs? I sure did--but that didn't mean one wasn't around, and today I got a momentary chance to take her picture at the post nest box. This female watched me warily when I checked nearby feeders. That's encouraging! Now comes the question: when do they hatch? when do they fledge? The best thing of all: that box did the job in its first season. I think that this is the greatest success my efforts at providing nest locations has had. The right location makes all the difference. The proof is that momma is in the house.
