Two Sights Soon To Be Missed

It always delights and fascinates me that the Trumpet Vine flowers almost exactly during the period the hummingbirds are here. I can count on my first resident hummer very close to the time when the first flowers appear, in May. And, the very last blooms are found as the hummers pack their bags in late August. This photo likely shows the very last flowers of this season. Of course, these flowers have evolved to suit the hummers which are their only pollinators. Isn't that a marvel of nature? And so I wistfully reflect on two little seasons. Soon my hummingbirds will be gone, and those lovely orange flowers...
