Amidst all of the changes going on between summer and winter, I almost missed one. There are no American Robins around! Two days of yardwork alerted me to this absence: watching what was hopping around soon led to an awareness of what was
not. So where are the robins? They migrated south. Our winter robins are the migrants from farther north. It does seem odd that one group of robins fills in for another, but nature does some interesting things. Act I has ended, and one group of robins is gone. The curtain may come up soon on the next act. When will the winter robins drop by?
