This afternoon we reached a huge milestone in the history of Cary BirdCam. That would be the recording of the 100,000th photograph taken on a Wingscapes BirdCam. Not the same camera, regrettably, as BirdCam 1.0 was replaced twice and its successor once. And for a short period of time two years ago two cameras operated simultaneously. And twice I took photos off site (at the beach, of gulls). However it was done, the logbook says 100,000 was achieved, and as fate would have it, I have an image of the Cary BirdCam iconic bird: the Pine Warbler. We began this journey on December 17, 2007. So yes, even at my pace that was an almost four year journey. On we go to the 200,000th photo--perhaps in late summer 2015. Stay tuned!
