The spring and summer of 2011 were certainly interesting from a "Bad Boy Bird" perspective. All at once, it seemed, I had regular and persistent visits from Blue Jays, Common Grackles, American Crows: all the dreaded nasties of the bird feeder playground. But y'know, it wasn't really so bad here. The Grackles did do some damage to suet supplies, but I am very certain the not-so-reviled Gray Catbirds did more. And the Blue Jay was never even an issue. Looking back, I really shouldn't have had a question that all these birds have their place, and if visiting in moderation won't be a bother. I'd be willing to welcome the lock back next time they're here! See you baddies...whenever that will be.Thursday, October 13, 2011
Bad Boy Bird Update
