We were first in line for the Cary premiere of "The Big Year", and it was a great outing. While I expected the human interest stories to be front and center (and those are poignant--even more so than in the original book), great care is taken with the birds, which are treated respectfully. The songs sounded authentic: I am informed experts were consulting and actual birdsong used, and the two CGI(?) mockups are solid enough (a Great Spotted Woodpecker and a Great Grey Owl.) And the birder will appreciate the locations, especially Attu. A lot of fun! I cheerfully recommend this one to birdloving friends!
