In the Confident Hope of a Miracle

One nectar feeder remains. Not for the Ruby Throated Hummingbirds we enjoy in the summer. They're gone---long gone. No, I have it out with the idea of attracting one species of hummingbird now regularly reported in our county in winter. That would be the Rufous Hummingbird. Have they ever come here? no. Are they likely to, soon? well....likely no. Is it possible, ever? Yes, or so I hope. I will plug away as long as I can to see if maybe, just maybe the near-impossible will take place. It may be a fool's errand, but it sure would be an amazing experience and at a small price in off-season nectar. I'll be watching and waiting...
