Gone...Again

So....the American Goldfinches have vanished....again. The good news, of course, is that these voracious consumers of sunflower seed are vexing someone else's budget. The bad news is that I don't get to see the bright little devils. Goldfinches are probably the most fickle creatures on the guest list. Back in '09 I went most of the year without seeing them. But trust me, I heard them. They were in the neighborhood. Lord only knows what they found that surpassed my spread. And it may be I lost them for the winter. All this in spite of a world-class menu. Well so be it. A little less abuse on the budget and a chance to appreciate less fickle friends. See ya, finches!

Ha! ha! well, I hope they're not mine! Obviously you offer quite the banquet. Still have the siskin and evening grosbeak mobs?
