Blue Marvel

The office park where I work is adjacent to a good deal of open space that itself abuts a game land system.  And so we regularly see natural wonders.  Each summer I have been treated to several repeating species of birds.  And recently returned is the Blue Grosbeak.  This bird seems to prefer open, second growth territory and enjoys perching on trees and shrubs under five years old.  Happily, the male most prefers the corner nearest to my parking spot.  And at lunch I can sit out there and take in his calls -- a cheery cascade of notes.  I have many more weeks ahead of this pleasure!  Good to see them back for another warm time.
